Curious about the diverse languages offered at Yale?
Participants at the recent Language Tasting event had the opportunity to experience a unique micro-demonstration of the Egyptian dialect with Professor Randa Muhammed. Rather than simply drinking tea, students actively engaged with the language by practicing ordering tea in the context of a traditional Egyptian teahouse setting. This immersive “tasting” provided a practical and cultural glimpse into the dialect, further enhanced by the enjoyment of an authentic Arabic sweet treat. This engaging event, a collaboration between the Academic Strategies Program and the Center for Language Study, offered a memorable and interactive introduction to the nuances of Egyptian Arabic (among other languages) within a cultural framework. Below are pictures from the vent.
